David S. Hewitt, M.D., came to Visalia in 1996. A native of Louisiana and graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine, he trained in pathology at UC Davis Medical Center (Sacramento). His special interest is dermatopathology. Also, he is Medical Director of the Clinical Laboratory at Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
David M. Kaufman, M.D., is a native of New York. A graduate of SUNY School of Medicine (Buffalo), he completed pathology residency and a fellowship in surgical pathology at Mt. Sinai in NYC and joined VPMG in 2002.
Ricardo Jimenez, M.D., is a native of Argentina. He, too, completed pathology residency at Mt. Sinai in NYC and also completed a hematopathology fellowship at UC Davis in Sacramento. We are pleased to welcome him to our practice.
Terry Land, C.T. (ASCP), has just joined VPMG as our primary Pap screener, and he assists with intraoperative CT and ultrasound biopsy evaluation, as well as performing molecular detection assays (vide infra); we are pleased to have him on our team.
Cheryl Hewitt, C.L.S., is the coordinator of our molecular diagnostics program and the primary operator of the Roche cobas® 4800 system, performing in-house molecular detection of high-risk HPV, Chlamydia, and N. gonorrhea on Pap samples.
We have a highly trained technical staff processing our specimens and performing routine and specialized testing, including immunohistochemistry.
Our in-house transcriptionists provide rapid report turnaround and our front-office staff processes all billing and claims information.
